‘Stathopoulos' Bouzouki
Many of its elements correspond to the shell of a Napolitan mandolin; the acute angle of convergence of the side staves with the soundboard, the one-piece neck and neckblock and the point of departure of the staves. Moreover, the shape of the headstock, and the cranked soundboard allude to the same lutherie school. On the other hand, other elements are in complete accordance with the Greek bouzouki, namely the width-to-depth ratio, and the shape of its face. The merging of those two lutherie schools was not an easy task, as is evident in the joints between ‘difficult' staves.
